Aging Boldly: The Camino Challenge

This summer, Tami “Sneaker CEO” Bohannon is celebrating her platinum birthday in a way that reflects her passion, purpose, and the mission of AllThrive 365 — by serving as an example for healthy aging in the Camino Challenge. From June 22nd through June 28th, she will be walking 77 miles of the historic Camino de Santiago.

But she’s not walking alone.

Each day of her 7-day journey, Tami will carry with her the story of one of our program
participants — the “Tami 7.” These individuals represent the heart of AllThrive 365’s work:
helping aging adults and under-resourced Arizonans live healthier, more independent lives.

Meet the “Tami 7” — One for Each Day of the Journey

Day 1: Lupe – Adult Day Health
Lupe has been part of our Adult Day Health program for over 30 years. Living in one of our Adult Foster Care homes, she thrives in a setting that offers both independence and compassionate care. At our Glendale Adult Day Center, Lupe enjoys creative arts, wellness programs, and social connection. Tami begins her journey with Lupe’s joyful resilience in her heart.

Day 2: Patricia – Weatherization
After a home energy audit through our weatherization program, Patricia saw her monthly utility bill drop from $180 to $86. That’s real savings — and real impact. Her story reminds us that aging well starts with a safe, affordable, and energy-efficient home.

Day 3: Maria – Behavioral Health
Maria, a client in AllThrive 365’s Behavioral Health Program for 13 years, lives with a delusional disorder. Despite her challenges, she radiates joy and empathy, always offering sandwiches and smiles to those around her. Her laughter is infectious, and her progress is a testament to the healing power of community and care.

Day 4: William – Spectrum Housing
William has been a beloved resident of Spectrum Courtyard since it opened in 2021. Energetic and full of life, William is known for dressing up as his favorite characters — especially during Halloween — and bringing joy to his neighbors. He shares his home with a cherished cat and is always quick to remind staff to keep the door closed during visits. William’s vibrant personality and sense of community reflect the spirit of Spectrum housing: a place where residents feel safe, supported, and truly at home.

Day 5: Char & Stan – Healthy Aging Center
Char and Stan’s lives were upended by accidents and financial hardship. But through the support of our Wickenburg Healthy Aging Center, they found nourishment, community, and guidance. Their story is one of resilience, and a powerful example of how social connection and support can transform lives.

Day 6: John – Transitional Care
John Yu was struck by a car while biking to seek help. After his hospital stay, he faced a daunting recovery with no transportation, no computer, and no support — until he was connected with our Transitional Care Program. With the help of a patient care advocate, John received medical equipment, food, and follow-up care. His story is one of hope, healing, and the power of showing up for one another.

Day 7: One Team – All of Us
On her final day, Tami walks for the AllThrive 365 team — the changemakers who operate and support our health, housing, and connection programs with love and compassion. At AllThrive 365, we champion every person’s right to age with confidence. That means access to holistic healthcare, safe and affordable housing, and meaningful social connection. This whole-person approach ensures Arizonans don’t just get by — they thrive, every single day of the year.
