FSL Raises $200,000 at 50th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon
Funds from the event will support FSL’s programs and services promoting healthy aging for all Arizonans.
PHOENIX, AZ (October 23, 2024) — FSL (Foundation for Senior Living) gathered supporters and community partners together for a special luncheon celebrating 50 years of service and an unwavering commitment to enhancing the safety and wellbeing of Arizonans. The sold-out event, which took place on Oct. 22, raised more than $200,000 and paid special tribute to 50 remarkable individuals in the community as part of the inaugural ’50 over 50’ awards.
“We are excited to share this monumental milestone with our community,” said Tami Bohannon, president and CEO of FSL. “I am so encouraged by the support and dedication we saw at the luncheon. I know that together, we all can play a role in raising awareness for the issues that face our aging community.”
Southwest Gas was the Presenting Sponsor at the luncheon, which took place at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel. More than 500 attendees came together to hear from a robust Healthy Aging Panel that included representatives from AARP Arizona, City of Tempe, and Seniors Rising who shared a look back on the last five decades and a glimpse forward into the future of FSL and its mission.
The luncheon also highlighted and celebrated 50 outstanding Arizonans whose contributions have significantly impacted Arizona’s communities FSL’s first ever ’50 Over 50’ awards. The tireless commitment of these Honorees has put safety and wellbeing at the forefront of serving the aging population across the state.
“This celebration isn’t just about the past – it’s about the people who make it all happen,” said FSL Board Chairman, Ed Fischer, during the presentation, “Our ‘50 Over 50’ honorees represent the incredible things that are possible when we age with confidence and purpose.”
