Extreme heat is now the leading weather-related cause of death in Arizona, and the numbers continue to climb. In fact, Maricopa County confirmed its first heat-related death of the 2026 season as early as April—a stark reminder of how quickly dangerous conditions can emerge.

A Community-Wide Response to Extreme Heat

This summer, the City of Phoenix selected AllThrive 365 as its Heat Relief Supply Distribution and Management Partner, trusting us to lead the coordination and delivery of lifesaving resources across the Valley.

From May through September, our team is:

• Distributing water, sunscreen, hats, and cooling supplies
• Coordinating logistics across the city’s Heat Relief Network
• Ensuring resources reach those most vulnerable—older adults, low-income households, and individuals experiencing homelessness

With the scale of this effort—including millions of water bottles and thousands of cooling supplies—this work is about more than logistics. It’s about saving lives through timely, equitable access to relief.

Why Heat Relief Matters More Than Ever

Extreme heat doesn’t impact everyone equally.

Some residents face significantly higher risks, including:

• Older adults and individuals with chronic health conditions
• Households without reliable cooling
• Families with young children
• Communities already experiencing economic hardship

Without intervention, heat-related illness can escalate quickly—from dehydration and heat exhaustion to life-threatening heat stroke.

That’s why early access to cooling, hydration, and safe shelter isn’t just helpful—it’s critical.

Stay Cool at Home: Free AC Repair & Replacement

For many Arizona families, the most dangerous place during a heat wave is their own home.

AllThrive 365’s Healthy Homes Air Conditioning Program provides free repair or replacement of broken or unsafe AC systems for eligible homeowners—helping families stay safe without the burden of cost.

This program:

• Serves residents across Maricopa and surrounding counties
• Prioritizes older adults, people with disabilities, and households with children
• Supports income-qualified households (up to 200% of the federal poverty level)

Because when temperatures climb above 110°F, a working air conditioner isn’t a luxury—it’s lifesaving infrastructure.
